- The lane is single-track and signposted "Trillis"; the cottage sign is lit.
- By car, never drive past the cottage or turn left out of the drive, because it's a green lane (fine on foot).

Local area
Pubs within walking distance (all dog-friendly)
- The Butchers Arms, Oakridge Lynch: 15–20 min walk. The closest, about a mile. Great Sunday roasts.
- The Crown Inn, Frampton Mansell: 20–25 min walk. A 17th-century cider house; steep hill on the way there, easy walk back. Take a torch in winter.
- The Daneway Inn: 30 min walk.
- The Bell at Sapperton: our top pick for food and celebrations; about a 12-minute drive. Book ahead.
Shops
- Ollie's Shop & Post Office, Oakridge Lynch (GL6 7NZ): the nearest shop, opposite The Butchers Arms, about 1.5 km on foot.
- Londis (Eastcombe Stores & Post Office) and Tesco Express (Chalford) for essentials; Tesco Superstore and Waitrose in Stroud for a bigger shop, all by car.
Taxis and deliveries
Please pre-book a local taxi, as there's no reliable Uber out here (though Uber can sometimes be available). Stroud station is about 20 minutes by car. Uber Eats does deliver, though some takeaway drivers and supermarket vans find the lane tricky.
Walks
Walks from the door aren't signposted, so use the cottage walks booklet (rrgordon.com) or the OS map. Footpaths are unlit, so take a torch after dark. The cottage backs onto Trillis Banks nature reserve (dogs on leads; paths can be narrow and wet).
Eat
Amore Mio (Italian, Cirencester), The Olive Tree and Williams (Nailsworth), Juliet (Stroud), Roots and Seeds at Cirencester Park (breakfast), Woodruffs café (Stroud), which has a play area.
